REACH my foot

Spotted this question in REACH’s FAQ:

• Q: I am using browsers such as Firefox and Mozilla as my default Internet browser. Why can’t I submit my feedback when using these browsers?

• A: The Portal was designed to be best viewed with Internet Explorer 6 and above.

What a joke. Isn’t REACH supposed to “reach” out to everyone? Seems like it’s reaching out only to Internet Explorer users. Eh, like dat hor, a lot of good citizens using Firefox will be falling through the cracks leh.

Another joke awaits when I tried to submit my feedback using REACH’s survey form… it says “Error encountered at System”:

They win liao lor.

In fond memory - Andrew Chong

In the blink of an eye, it’s been exactly 10 years. On 21 June 1997, our dear friend and army mate Andrew Chong Joon Kiat (fondly known in our fraternity as Bochap) met with a fatal accident along the expressway in the dead of night.

The news had come as a great shock to all our army mates. After all, we had just completed the harshest 2.5 years of army hell and were starting to enjoy our lives in NUS. We couldn’t believe our ears, “What? Bochap is gone, so suddenly, just like that??” From what we understood, he was sending his girlfriend home when the fatal accident took place. The car he was in crashed into the road divider along the expressway. The impact was so great that he was flung out of the windscreen. His girlfriend, who was in the car with him, also did not make it.

10 years on, on this day, we remember and salute our dear 3SG (NS) Andrew Chong Joon Kiat. Fond memories of him and his jokes will continue to live in the hearts of those who remember - Peh Bock Kiat, Sim Wee Meng, etc.
